The event is co-organised by GRENA and the EU-funded FP7 EXTEND project (www.EXTEND-ict.eu). The conference aims to formulate a strategy and actions for the development of ICT Research & Development in the region and for the region’s integration in the wider European effort to achieve the Information Society.
In the conference more than 100 IT researchers and stakeholders from many countries of the Region and the European Union are expected to participate and contribute with their presentations.
From the Georgian side about 50 Researchers, representatives of Georgian National Science Foundation, EU Delegation in Georgia, representatives of Ministries, universities, private and nongovernmental organizations, journalists and media representatives will take part.
The conference will be opened by the host organization Georgian Research and Educational Networking Association, the State Ministry for Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia, the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and the Georgian Technical University.
The agenda includes two panel sessions where the main ICT challenges of the Region and the strategy to be followed in order to improve the participation to the European Programmes of Research and Technological development will be addressed. It also includes a brokerage event which will enable the presentation of success stories, discussion of new ideas, agreement between partners on the creation of new consortiums, etc.
The conference will be held in OLD Tbilisi Hotel on June 16-17.
